XCEL DRYLOCK HYDROPHOBIC L/S HOODIE
Another product we took down to Salina Cruz was the long sleeve hoodie by Xcel. It’s a must have item for the midday sessions when the sun is scorching. Most people at the camps take a break midday, so, if you like surfing with less people, come down prepared to beat the heat. You can wear the hood for sun protection of your eyes and forehead, or, if it gets bothersome, you can just take it off and let it sit behind your neck. The “hydrophobic” nylon construction is sick because it repels water enough to notice and when it’s wet the air blowing on the rashie acts as a bit of a coolant. Most importantly is the UVA/UVB protection factor. The rashguard won’t let you get sun burnt. Embrace your inner old man and try one of these out. You never know, this hooded rashie vibe might make a trendy stint in the coming years putting the unbuttoned S/S button down on the backburner.
*We shot this in the clouds because it looked cool with the grey skies but let us assure you we wore it regardless of content for this site.
