Dakine has come out with the JJF collection for 2018 including a pad a leash and a daybag for your board. We got our feet onto one of the pads and approve. Sad to see the surfer off of the Astrodeck program (albeit that was years ago) but this pad makes it ok. The material is softer than an Astrodeck but still seems substantial enough to endure a year or two of use. Dakine offers a two year limited warranty on the pad, something we've never heard of; wonder how you make a claim on that ? The 25 MM vert tail kick is comfortable and fits a small foot, size 8, well. Johns foot must be size 10 ? Needless to say we like the grip and so does the worlds best surfer at the moment. Try one out. Its always nice to change up which tail pad you choose. 

These die cut holes allow water flow though your pad instead of over it . This is an enhancementsupposedly but they definitely reduce the weight of the pad.
