Different is what makes evolution possible. Life can get methodical and that new spark is something to be sought after in the day-to-day surf existence. Bringing us to the new AU fin,  which uses shape and contour to create a “spiral propulsion” thrust going in and out of turns. The look of the fin immediately makes you skeptical that it will perform at a high level. But within a few waves that extra feeling was already noticeable. There was a spring off the bottom turn, allowing extra speed into the turn. And there was a spring coming out of the turn, which felt good but took some getting used to in the pocket. That first session, at shoulder high Lowers, showed that the AU design template works from rail to rail, which immediately makes it a recommended fin in barrels.

It is made of solid fiberglass core using Elastomax strength polymer resin and an 80/20 foil. The base of the fin is 5 ¼ inches and the fin is finished with flakes of 24 Karat gold. Sometimes you need to change it up, why not make it a spiral propulsion fin made with flakes of AU.
