CF TANNER G. TWIN ESPECIAL
Have you ever had a board that wasn’t living up to its potential? The outline was right, the volume was on point, but some element was missing to unlock the magic. That’s what lead us down the rabbit hole of the perfect Twin-fin trailer (fin system) setup other than the outspoken Akila Aipa Futures (which we hear are THE call for the straight twin setup). The CF-Twin Especial combines a performance shaped fin with a stiff fiberglass hold, giving it a high speed boost from the start. The set comes with a trailer fin, adding stability to carves when you have all that reckless speed. The fin made a board once thought to have no drive suddenly feel like it had a new gear, giving it a better pace with the wave than its plastic counterpart. Instead of lagging off the first rail it knifed in with a refreshing propulsion. The board that had been rotting in the garage suddenly was my new favorite summer ride.
The side fins have a height of 5.15 inches and a base of 4.8 with a flat foil. The trailer has a height of 3 inches and a base of 2.8 with a 50/50 foil. It’s hard to deny the usability of a fin co-designed by a pro surfer as methodical as Tanner Gudauskas. And with the high functioning CF team in the R&D room as well, it’s no wonder why Captain Fin could supply this blessing to growing twin-fin (trailer) enthusiasts everywhere.
