While there have been many iterations (O'neill, Quiksilver, Xcel) from most likely the exact same Taiwanese factory, Rip Curl's rendition of the ever popular yet fragile liquid neoprene rubber coated surf boots are a favorite in Surf Only's daily kit. These liquid coated neoprene and poly lined boots are as minimal as possible, meaning they are intended for surfing not for use walking on pavement or hiking in to a spot. The booties fragility has caused other brands to abandon this design while Rip Curl has doubled down, making small improvements over the past couples winters to increase durability and keep the ultra thin sensitive connection of your feet with the deck of your board. Don't expect these booties to last longer than one season though. Give them 90 to 120 days before these smell like rubber rotting in piss, even when you rinse them out religiously. Just make sure not to leave them in your chicks car with the windows up.
